"I am an Agent of Change" Hiliard Eta.

The newly appointed Board Chairman of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Ntufam Hilliard Eta, on Friday paid a visit to the Scheme.

The Board Chairman first visited the office of the Minister of Youth Development, Dr. Jamila Bio Ibrahim, before proceeding to the National Headquarters of NYSC in Abuja.

Upon arrival, Ntufam Eta held a closed-door meeting with the Director-General of the Scheme, Brigadier General YD Ahmed.

Speaking to journalists, Ntufam  described himself as an agent of change, emphasizing that his appointment as the Board Chairman of the Scheme is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact.

He noted that Nigeria is at a pivotal stage of transition toward greatness, highlighting that the youth are one of the key pillars of this progress.

The former Acting National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) stated that the NYSC was established to refine young Nigerians, fostering values such as patriotism, creativity, and progress.

When asked about his impression of the Scheme during his first visit, Ntufam said:

“So far, so good. I consider myself an agent of change, and Nigeria is currently at the point of transition toward greatness.

“One of the pillars of this greatness is the youth, and this institution was created to refine them by building core values of patriotism, creativity, and progress.

“For me, this is an opportunity to add value. I approach life with a purpose-driven attitude, and I thank God for this opportunity to apply that attitude in contributing to the success of the Scheme.”

He further remarked that the NYSC has existed for over 52 years, which necessitates reforms, renovations, and innovations to align it with current realities.

“That’s why I believe this is an excellent opportunity to introduce meaningful reforms and strategically position the Scheme to achieve the best that Nigeria can offer,” he added.
