UNICAL Car Park: VC Orders Contractor Back To Site


The Vice Chancellor of the University of Calabar, Prof Zana Akpagu has ordered the contractor, Fouplant Nig. Ltd. handling the UNICAL car park back to site with a view to expedite action on the completion of the over 500 capacity car park.
According to the Vice Chancellor who was on an unscheduled routine visit, the car park is part of the infrastructural drive of his administration aimed at tackling the issue of congestion by providing adequate parking space for staff and visitors.
Prof. Akpagu said his administration is poised to leave a lasting legacy that will stand the test of time, adding that the car park is of the many ongoing projects undertaken by his administration.
He said the welfare of staff and students remains the core objective of his administration and charged the contractor handling the project to ensure speedy completion.


The Vice Chancellor said the car park which is of global standard has the capacity to accommodate over 500 cars.
Prof. Akpagu said "my administration is committed to infrastructural development in the Institution, that is why we have directed the contractor handling the project to resume work and as we speak, they are on site."
" The car park is at an advance stage of completion and has the capacity to accommodate over 500 cars and with this, there will be no more traffic congestion on campus, our staff and students will have enough space to park their cars on campus".
