CROSIEC Boss Reveals Why LG Polls Have Not Been Conducted.
Thea Chairman of the Cross River Independent State Electoral Commission (CROSIEC) Mr Mike Ushie has given reasons why the commission has not conducted the anticipated Local government elections.
The Chairmanade this revelation when the Special Adviser to the Governor of Cross River State on Student Affairs and Youth Mobilization-Prince Michael Nku Abuo,JP and a team from Cross River State foremost sociopolitical organization-Cross River State Political Network (CRISPON) yesterday,Friday, 6th October,2017 paid him a visit at his office to ascertain preparations and the position of the Commission's towards the conduct of Local Government Elections In Cross River State.
The Chairman of the Commission stated boldly that the Commission is ready for the conduct of the local government elections in the state but for two reasons which are: a state high court injunction gotten by nine political parties against the commission conducting the elections due to the ongoing voter's excercise and lack of funds for the conduct of a successful elections.
He debunked the rumours that local government elections won't be conducted in the state. Ushie commended the efforts of Cross River State Political Network towards citizen's mobilization and sensitization and granted the organization's interest in monitoring the said elections in due course.
The Chairman also handed over the commission's voters sensitization hand book and photosession with the Special Adviser and represenatives of Cross River State Political Network,CRISPON
