Tension As APC Appeal Commitee Drills Tony Nwoye Over Outcome Of Anambra Congress

Tension rises as the All Progressives Congress (APC) Appeal committee summoned Hon.Tony Nwoye to defend petition against his emergence at the party primary held last month. Nwoye who arrived the appeal venue at Rockview Hotel Abuja around 1.00pm on Monday, was drilled for 45 minutes.

Nigeriasparrow gathered that part of the allegations laid against Nwoye was the use ofmembers of NANS as delegates during the primary election. They allegedly manipulated, brutalized and intimidated delegates and induced them with money.

Barely few weeks ago, Hon. Nwoye was also accused of allegedly signing an agreement with Prince Arthur Eze to give him 30% of the state's IGR and few commissioner slots if he sponsors his Governorship campaign.

When contacted for reaction, APC National Publicity Secretary, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, said the party has not made any definite pronouncement on the Anambra state governorship primary.

He said “It is important for us to recognise that there are procedures for everything. The procedure for primary within our party as you know provides for certain windows for people who are dissatisfied to lay their grievances or complaints before the appeal panel.

“But we have not received the report of the appeal panel and so we await for that panel and we don’t know what they will recommend. However whatever is the report of the panel we will consider it and then take a decision, we are confident that we will be able resolve whatever the issues are and then go into the election. We are also confident that we are going to win the governorship election on November 18.”

Indeed Anambra state awaits the final decision of the APC Appeal committee.
