Breaking: Ayade fixes Local Government polls for April 7.
Inside sources from government house Calabar has revealed to Nigeria Sparrow Newsdesk indicate that Sen. Ben Ayade has fixed the LG elections for April 7 2017.
This was agreed during a PDP stakeholders in government house Calabar.
You will recall that the Senate had threaten that any state without an elective local government will not be getting the allocation for Local Government. Also last week a Lawyer and APC chieftain Chief Utum Eteng had secured a judgment from the high court making it illegal for the state government to set up caretaker committee in the various councils.
This have all culminated to put pressure on the state government who have hitherto been planning to run the Lg councils with caretaker's citing paucity of funds as the reason to conduct Lg government election in the shortest possible time.
