Atiku Blast Reporter On 2019 Ambition.

Former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, on Monday said Nigerians are suffering under the present dispensation because there is no food for them to eat.
Atiku told newsmen in Minna when he joined the Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki, in a condolence visit to the residence of the late former Governor of Niger State, Abdulkadir Kure.
He said Nigerians shoud not be talking about 2019 because the people are hungry. However, when asked on his preparation for the 2019 General Elections, Atiku said, “Who is talking about 2019 now when there is no food on the table? People are hungry.”
He described the late Kure, as a friend, a colleague, a brother, a compatriot.
“His death is a personal loss to me. I consider this loss as a personal one. The late kure was a compatriot and I happen to belong to the class of former governors of 1999; from that club I became the Vice President and I remember his role as far as that club was concerned; he was one of the youngest but then one of the most moderating influence on all of us.”
The Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki, who spoke on insurgency plaguing the country said, “Fighting terrorism is not a thing that can end in one day; the government will restore life back to the North Eastern part of the country.”
He said, “A lot of progress have been made in the country against insurgency. We have put mechanisms in place to stop them even though there are sporadic attacks here and there. That will not stop us from doing what we are doing to ensure that lives are protected.”
Those on the Senate President’s team were former Governor of Adamawa State, Murtala Nyako; Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu; former Governor of Ebonyi State, Senator Sam Egwu and others.
