Hausa Community Chieftaincy Fued: Host Community Takes Action.

The Ishibori Community in Ogoja has protested Over the ongoing tussle going on within the Hausa Community Over is the original Sarki. The tussle has between one Alhaji Fancy Yakubu Who is the son of the late Sarki and one Alhaji Salisu.
While Alhaji Fancy is claiming that he is the authentic Sarki as its right to take Over from his late father, Alhaji Salisu is insisting that he was selected by the elders and youths of the Community so as such he is the authentic Sarki.
This tussle has snowballed into a major crisis where the supporters of warring group have started attacking themselves with Cutlass and other weapons which left a lot of people wounded and propeties destroyed.
To end the tussle and stop further bloodshed the Ishibori Community which is the host Community arose in thier numbers this morning and marched to the head of HOLGA and the Area command in Ogoja informing them that they recognise only Alhaji Salisu as the authentic Sarki of the Hausa Community.
They also marched through the streets of Igoli to Alhaji Fancy home to reiterate thier position.

The Plot to stop the re-election of Governor Ben Ayade in 2019 has taken a new twist as not only the oppositon APC is planning to stop  his bid to continue in 2019 but they is now a serious threat from his own ruling People Democtatic Party. Ahead of Defection: Ayade Meets With APC South-South Caucus .

Strong information reaching our newwsdesk suggest Cross River governor Sen. Ben Ayade has heightened plans to defect to the All Progressive Congress. The governor is said to have met with leadership of the APC at the South- south level spearheaded by Transport minister, Rotimi Ameachi. The governor allegedly pleaded with Ameachi to provide a soft landing for him in the state as he defects with all his political structures. The rumour of the governor defection has been making the rounds for more than a year now, but this heightened decision to defect is not unconnected with the supreme court judgement with declared Markarfi as the authentic national chairman of the PDP. Ayade has been a supporter of the Sheriff faction and so is said to be scared of his future in PDP under the chairmanship of Markafi who he expects to take his own pound of flesh when the time comes. ASUU Declares Indefinite Strike From Monday 14th August

Following the outcome of the referendum meeting held Sunday afternoon in Abuja by the union leaders, the Academic staff Union of Universities has declared an indefinite strike from Monday 14th August 2017. This the Union leader says is to persuade the Federal government to meet their demands. This came after several branches of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) have voted overwhelmingly for members in both federal and state universities to embark on an indefinite strike to press home the implementation of their demands. ASUU branches nationwide on Friday held a referendum in line with an earlier directive by the National Executive Council (NEC) to vote whether the strike will be indefinite strike, one month strike, one week warning and no strike. The meeting of ASUU NEC is currently ongoing at the union’s secretariat at Abuja to deliberate on the outcome of the referendum conducted by the branches. APC Chieftain Embarrases Ayade, Donates Bridge To Community.

An APC chieftain Chief Ray Ugba Morphy has embarrassed Governor Ben Ayade when he single handedly constructed a bridge for the Ukpagada community in Ogoja even when the governor has not been able to complete any infrastructural project in the state since he was elected. The Ukpagada community had been cutoff from the rest of society for more than  52 years as the only bridge linking them to town was destroyed destroying during the Civil War and as such were unable to convey their farm produce to the market and earn revenue for themselves. Several cry to government for assistance fell on deaf ears until Chief Morphy who is not even a member of the community came to thier rescue. There are indications that all is not well in Cross River State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) over claims by the state’s National Assembly Caucus of highhandedness and non-inclusive congresses by Governor Ben Ayade. The lawmakers from the state in a letter to the National Chairman of the PDP dated October 12, 2017 warned that unless something urgently is done to remedy the situation, the party stands a poor chance in the 2019 elections. Imoke Mocks Ayade, Says He Did Better Even As A Sleeping Governor.

Former Cross River Governor, Senator Liyel Imoke has chided his incumbent, Senator Ben Ayade over his (non) performance. Imoke told an audience of teeming youths during the 7th edition of ‘The Bridge Leadership Foundation’ that people use to describe him as “The sleeping Governor,” when he was in office but that he constructed rural roads which was a major achievement in his administration that lasted from 2007 to 2015; though truncated twice by court judgments where he was sacked. “When I was governor you people said I was a sleeping governor, but I think you would appreciate a sleeping governor who constructed rural roads across the 18 LGAs than what you have now,” Imoke said in apparent reference to Mr. Ayade’s poor performance in road construction.
